Today is Friday and I will try to start off the weekend in an abbreviated form.
These are the foods that I know are in heaven. Don't ask me for my sources because I don't have any. Yet. I just know.
Mashed potatoes-Yeah, it actually is the first thing I think about when I think of food in heaven. Sometimes I dream about mashed potatoes. Hey, you're reading my blog, you got yourself here, you're in for the long haul.
Chocolate- That covers pretty much anything made from, with, or by chocolate. This is with nuts, caramel, nougat, raisins, dates, crispy pieces; the more the merrier.
Wine- Duh. Not necessarily a food, but there's no need to split hairs. I like to consider God an equal opportunity kind of guy so there are dry Rieslings as well as sweet, and all tasty reds, ports and champagne. I'm very sure steel fermented Cabs are there too, but not oak ones. Sorry.
Spaghetti- We're talking the best, freshest sauces with just-picked basil and every pasta imaginable that is done perfectly al dente. Yum.
Cheese- Again, just about any cheese, even Limburger because my grandpa used to love it and I know he's in heaven eating some right now.
Pad Thai Tofu- Don't judge. This stuff is the bomb. I just discovered this dish from a local restaurant and don't know how I've gotten along without it.
Fresh fruits and veggies-The crispest apples, juiciest peaches, the tartest (tartest?) nectarines and blueberries and the best salads-ever. In fact I think there's a never-ending bar there, 24/7.
It goes without saying that in heaven one can eat as much as one wants since there are NO calories or fat in heaven. And our stomachs never get full, just blissfully sated. No wonder why it's called Heaven.
